As part of efforts to enhance leadership capacities at the market across the State, Chief Mrs. Olasonde Oduwaye has been installed as the new Iyaloja of Remoland.

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, while carrying out the inauguration at the multipurpose hall within the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu, disclosed that, effective leadership in market places was key in socio- economic development of any community.

He congratulated Chief Oduwaye on her new role, emphasising the importance of maintaining good relationship with Iyaloja Generals from various Local Government Areas. He encouraged her to promote unity and ensure peaceful co-existence among all market women so as to lead to economic prosperity of all, praying that her tenure would usher in progress, growth, and empowerment in Remo land.

The Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Odulate, commended Chief Oduwaye for the appointment, affirming that she was deserving of the new leadership role.

In her response, Chief Mrs. Olasonde Oduwaye, expressed her gratitude and described the occasion as a significant honour. She pledged to serve with integrity, fairness, and dedication to the welfare of market women across Remo land.

The market General Secretary for Sagamu Local Government, Mrs. Ola Adelaja, commended the State Government and the Akarigbo for selecting a capable leader, referring to the new Iyaloja as a mother figure, known for her honesty and dedication to people’s wellbeing.
