The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor and Deputy Director General of OgunInvest, Ms. Sola Arobieke, emphasized the pivotal role of digital platforms in enhancing business funding, promoting financial inclusion, and driving economic growth across Nigeria.
Speaking at the 2025 Seminar/Induction Ceremony in Lagos, themed 'Increasing Operational Resilience through Business Continuity Management,' Arobieke urged newly inducted members of the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management (CILRM) to adopt technology and invest in digital literacy to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Delivering a lecture titled “Computer-Based Loan Scheme Implementation: Challenges and the Way Forward,” she reiterated the transformative potential of digital systems in expanding access to finance, especially among underserved populations.
Arobieke stated that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State has embraced digital platforms in the implementation of its various programs. From the 'Oko Owo Dapo' grants initiative, which supports small businesses, to streamlining tax payments, the Ogun State government has prioritized technology to enhance service delivery and promote economic growth.
She highlighted how digitalization has improved the accessibility and transparency of grant applications, particularly through Ogun State's online platforms. The digitalization of grant processes has simplified the application journey, ensuring that funding opportunities are no longer hindered by complex paperwork or administrative bottlenecks.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the President of the Institute, Dr. Harriet Nkechi Akubuiro, represented by a member of the Governing Council, Dr. Kehinde Oteje, expressed confidence in the new inductees, stating that the recognition and certification granted to members would remain valid within the field.
She revealed the Institute’s commitment to exposing them to the latest best practices in loan and risk management, fostering skill acquisition, and ensuring continuous professional growth.
