The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, April 25, declared four people wanted over their involvement in the alleged crash and scam perpetrated via the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).
In a post made on its various social media pages, the commission said the suspects – Adefowora Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, and Seyi Oloyede – are wanted by the commission for fraud.
“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud,” the commission said in its post.
Recall that the commission had approached the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for the mandate to arrest and detain six people involved with the CBEX fraud that left several Nigerians in distress after investments worth over N1 trillion vanished from the trading platform.
Following the EFCC’s prayer, the court presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite gave an ex parte order which was moved by the commission’s counsel.
According to the EFCC, the six suspects include Olanipekun, Oluwanisola, Uko, Oloyede, Avwerosuo Otorudo and Chukwuebuka Ehirim.
The anti-graft agency had alleged that the suspects promised investors an unrealistic 100 per cent Return on Investment.
