In an empowering initiative aimed at revitalizing agricultural activities and supporting local farmers,  House of Representative representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo popularly known as Omo Iwa has provided Cash empowerment and farming tools to over 1,500 constituents. 

The program, dubbed "Back to the Farm," is a training and financial Support/Empowerment of youth men and women to support Agricultural production in Ijebu Central Constituency.

The program focuses on equipping farmers with the necessary resources to boost their productivity and ensure sustainable farming practices.

Hon Ogunbanwo in his address said the distribution of both cash grants and farming tools, will enable farmers to reinvest in their agricultural ventures. 

" This support is expected to help increase crop yields, improve food security, and stimulate the local economy. The farming tools provided include modern equipment such as sprayers, designed to enhance the efficiency of farming operations.

The cash grants, tailored to meet individual needs, aim to provide farmers with the financial flexibility to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs." The federal lawmaker said.

He also highlighted that the "Back to the Farm" program is just the beginning, with plans for continuous support and future training programs to ensure long-term success.

Earlier in his Address, Mr Omowunmi Wale, Ijebu North East APC chairman said Omo Iwa is addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by farmers in the community, including access to capital, modern tools, and sustainable farming techniques.

Also Speaking at the event, Chairman, Governor Advisory Council, Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo emphasized the importance of returning to agriculture as a means of self-sufficiency and prosperity for the community. 

"Farming is the backbone of our economy, and with the right support, we can achieve greater food security and economic independence," He said

One of the beneficiary, Mr Jeje said this initiative marks a significant turning point, offering them the tools and financial means to thrive in their farming endeavors.
