Ijebu-Itele, Ogun State - Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, joined Governor Dapo Abiodun in a deeply emotional tribute on Sunday at the Fidau prayer held for the late Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, the party's late Publicity Secretary. The atmosphere at St. John Community Primary School in Ijebu-Itele was thick with shared sorrow as Governor Abiodun, visibly moved and at times tearful, eulogized Oladunjoye as more than just a colleague, but as "a brother, a defender, and a true friend."

Governor Abiodun, struggling to maintain composure, spoke of the profound personal loss he felt. "It is hard to believe that Tunde is gone," he said, his voice trembling. "This is personal for me. Very personal."

He continued, emphasizing Oladunjoye's unwavering support and crucial role within the party and the administration. "Tunde was not just a spokesman for our party. He was the heart of our communications, the voice of our beliefs, and the one who always stood tall no matter the storm. When we were at our lowest, he gave us courage. When we were attacked, he defended us without hesitation. He was fearless, bold, and true."

The Governor recounted Oladunjoye's steadfastness during the initial challenging period of his administration. "There were times when the waters were rough and everything seemed uncertain. But Tunde stood beside me. Not once did he flinch. He believed in our mission, in our government, and in the people of Ogun State."

A palpable silence enveloped the gathering as Governor Abiodun spoke, with many attendees visibly moved by his raw emotion and the evident depth of his bond with the deceased.

"He gave everything — his intellect, his energy, his name, and even his peace — to defend what we stood for. He wasn’t just loyal; he was passionate, articulate, and committed to the very end," the governor declared.

Recalling Oladunjoye's impactful tenure as Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Governor Abiodun highlighted his enduring legacies and his connection with the people. "Even then, he was a man of the people — bold in decision-making, but humble in his approach. He lifted people. He built bridges. He left a mark that will endure."

Governor Abiodun pledged ongoing support to Oladunjoye's family and urged the APC to uphold the values he championed: courage, service, and truth.

Chief Yemi Sanusi, the APC State Chairman, also struggled with his emotions as he described the late spokesman's passing as a "devastating blow" to the party. He reminisced about the shared challenges and Oladunjoye's vital contributions to strengthening the APC in Ogun State.

The 2025 State Amirul Hajj and National President of ACOMORAN, Prince Adebayo Apelogun, offered a sombre reflection on the transient nature of life and the importance of purposeful living.

In a particularly poignant moment, Oladunjoye's daughter, Robiat, spoke eloquently of her father as "a man of honour, simplicity, and deep compassion." She stated, "He gave himself to everyone. He was our father, but also a father to so many. His absence leaves a void, but his memory is a lighthouse that will continue to guide us."

As the day drew to a close in Ijebu-Itele, a sense of profound loss lingered among the mourners, coupled with a shared admiration for a man remembered for his courage, truthfulness, and unwavering dedication.
