President Bola Tinubu is holding a closed-door meeting with the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa, and other lawmakers from the state.
The lawmakers arrived at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday afternoon in a Coaster bus at around 2:00 pm. Security officials immediately escorted them into the President’s office complex.
Mojisola Meranda, recently elected Speaker of the Lagos Assembly, arrived alongside her colleagues, while Obasa arrived separately at about 3:00 pm.
Details of the meeting remain unknown, but it is believed to be connected to controversy in the Assembly which led to the impeachment of Obasa.
He was later reinstated following the intervention of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
