The Ministry of Health Annual Operational Plan (AOP) has been described as a testament of a shared vision in strengthening Ogun State's healthcare system and ensuring every resident has access to high quality, affordable and sustainable healthcare services.
The Ogun State Commissioner for Health Dr. Tomi Coker made this known at the 2025 Annual Operational Plan (AOP) dissemination meeting at the Ministry's Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Dr. Coker stated that under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State had continued to make remarkable strides in healthcare transformation, stressing that the present administration remained unwavering in its commitment towards promoting healthy living for the people of the State with the 2025 AOP being a direct reflection of the commitment.
”Today, we reaffirm our collective commitment to transforming our healthcare landscape. The AOP serves as a strategic guide, outlining the key priorities and actionable steps that will drive impactful improvements across the sector; a carefully certified, evidence-based roadmap designed to address both immediate and long-term healthcare challenges in our State," she added.
She said the plan was not developed in isolation but with the product of extensive collaboration among key stakeholders such as government agencies, healthcare professionals, development partners and the private sector, urging all and sundry not to see the document as just a blueprint, but a call to action by ensuring the people of Ogun State, especially the vulnerable feel the impact of government's policies and programmes.
In their separate remarks, Health Specialist UNICEF, Dr. Femi Adeyemi, NPHCDA State Coordinator Dr Victoria Adebiyi and APIN Public Health Initiatives Head of Office Ogun State, Pharmacist Michael Ohue, commended the State Government for always taking steps ahead at ensuring a healthier lives for its citizens, expressing optimism about the collaborative efforts, saying their focus would be on innovation, resource mobilization, and on-ground implementation of health services.
