The Ogun State Government has intensified efforts on the ongoing reconstruction of the Ilishan-Ilara-Akaka-Ode Remo Road and the Hospital Road Junction to Ayepe (Phase 1), ensuring steady progress in the delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

During a site inspection on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, assessed the level of work on the 12.4-kilometer Ilishan-Ilara-Akaka-Ode Remo Road, where various activities are ongoing. These include the laying and compaction of laterite and stone base between Ilishan-Ilara and Akaka, the construction of box culverts, and the laying of asphalt along Ilara-Akaka and Ode Remo.

Similarly, work is progressing on the Hospital Road Junction to Ayepe (Phase 1), covering 3.6 kilometers. The contractor has completed approximately 1.6 kilometers of drainage while concurrently removing unsuitable materials and laying laterite in preparation for further road construction.

Meanwhile, in another phase of road development, Hitech Construction Company is set to commence the laying of asphalt along Ode Junction to Sapade (Phase 3) today, Thursday. This marks another milestone in the government's commitment to providing durable and high-quality road networks across the state.

Engr. Akinsanya reaffirmed that the State Government remains committed to improving road infrastructure to enhance connectivity and economic activities across various communities. He emphasized that the projects, when completed, will boost transportation, facilitate the movement of goods and people, and support socio-economic development in the region.
