LG BOSS CALLS FOR PEACE, PROGRESS OF THE COUNCIL

 


The Vice Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Salami Isiaka has called on Muslims and Christians faithfuls to use their respective fasting periods of Ramadan and Lent to pray for the progress, unity and peace of the Council, State and Country in general.


The Vice Chairman revealed this in an interview with newsmen, in sagamu, he congratulated both the Christian and Muslim faithful’s for jointly holding the fasting in the month of March, urging them to embrace the spirit of love, kindness, and generosity that characterise the sacred period.


He urged Muslim Faithful to forgive those who have offended them, as stipulated in the Holy Quran and desist from holding grudges against anyone.


Speaking, Chief Imam of Sagamu Sheu Jinadu Abdul - Quadri, said the season was a special period when God use to show mercy and forgive sins of the people, calling on the people to support one another and promote socio-economic well-being and cohabit peacefully without rancor.


On his part, Remo District Chairman, Eternal Sacred C&S Church, Supt. Gen Babatunde Salako said, Prayer and fasting are essential tools for spiritual growth and development. He encouraged citizens to utilise this time to seek divine intervention in addressing the country’s challenges.


He stated that collective prayer and fasting could foster a sense of unity and purpose among Nigerians, ultimately leading to a more peaceful and prosperous nation.
