The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has acknowledged the exemplary roles played by women in moulding the young ones and serving as the foundational institution in shaping the society.
He made the remarks, while playing host to the women wing of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( Ogun State Chapter) led by Comrade Omolara Olaiya, who paid an advocacy visit to the State House of Assembly as part of the celebrations marking the 2025 International Women’s Day, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Rt. Hon. Elemide also commended their steadfast and emotional support to family units in the society, stressing that the Prince Dapo Abiodun -led administration in the State had consistently been gender sensitive thereby according priority on issues affecting women in the State.
He assured that the Assembly under his leadership would continue to support the women on matters of welfare and protection through relevant legislation.
Earlier in her remarks, Comrade Olaiya thanked the Assembly for its continued support and solidarity to the women folk, seeking more areas of collaboration on issues that would further advance the course of women in the State.
