A 27-year-old man, Uwadiae Airebiuwa has been arrested with a fresh human head in Edo State.
Airebiuwa was arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Edo State on March 7, 2025.
He was picked up with a fresh human head on Igbinudu Street, Evbuotubu Quarters, Oredo local government of Edo State.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu said Airebiuwa’s arrest was successful following a collaboration between the police and local vigilante.
Yamu said, “While on patrol of the area, the police intercepted and arrested one Uwadiae Airebiuwa, 27, of Igbinudu Street, Evbuotubu Quarters, in possession of a fresh human head contained in a polythene bag.”
He added that the suspected, during the investigation process, led the police team to a road near Eweka Shopping Plaza where he dumped the decapitated body of the victim.
“The deceased, later identified by a family member as Edobor Lawrence, 43, of No. 1 Osagie Street, Evbuotubu Quarters, was evacuated to the hospital for preservation while the investigation continues,” Yamu said.
While condoling with the family of the deceased, the commissioner of police in Edo State, Betty Otimenyin said the command is committed to bringing the suspect and any other perpetrator to justice.
The commissioner of police also advised young Nigerians to be wary of people with no legitimate source of income and desist from venturing into crime to make money.
