OGUN SPEAKER EULOGISES OBA BASIBO INDELIBLE FOOTPRINTS

Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has described the transition of the late Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, as a depletion in the ranks of revered monarchs, who through their actions, deeds and relationship often preserve cultural legacies, goodwill and nobility in the service to the society as exemplified by the late monarch in service to the people of Remoland.

The Speaker stated this during a condolence visit to the Council of Chiefs in company of his colleague-lawmakers and the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, at the Alaperu Palace in Iperu.

Rt. Elemide noted that, the death of the monarch was a rude shock, describing him as a monarch who exhibited simplicity, mutual respect, kind-heartedness and love for all, noting that he had etched his name on the sands of time.

Explaining that the late traditional ruler used his stool to facilitate growth and development to Remoland, through mutual respect for the political class, while commiserating with the chiefs and people of Remoland, with a challenge to ensure a seamless succession plan in line with the traditions, culture and extant law of the State.

In their separate remarks, the Lisa and Oluwo of Remoland, Chiefs Rotimi Odutona and Saheed Ifasola, lauded the lawmakers for the condolence visit, commending them for their supportive role to the present administration, assuring that the Council of Chiefs would remain steadfast in supporting and holding forth for the traditional administration of the community, with assurance to preserve the rich cultural heritage, customs and values of the land.
