Ogun State government has assured the people of Iperu-Remo Kingdom of continued community and infrastructural development across the town.
Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun gave the assurance, during a condolence visit of the management team to the palace of the late Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, saying government would not relent in its efforts at improving the lives and wellbeing of the people especially at the grassroots.
Hon. Balogun who described the late Oba as a highly revered traditional ruler, whose reign brought peace and blessings to Iperu, noted that, his demise was a rude shock and great loss to the people and the State, praying for the repose of his soul.
“We are here to commiserate with the people of Iperu-Remo. The news of the demise of Oba Idowu-Basibo was shocking. We pray that God will grant him eternal rest and comfort the family and entire people of Iperu.
Also speaking, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Fatai Ogunlana, who also condoled with the family and the people of the town, said, Iperu-Remo was a pacesetter in the State, noting that the Ministry had enjoyed great partnership, which had birthed laudable developmental projects and remarkable progress to the land.
He highlighted some of the Ministry's legacy projects in the town to include the oldest higher institution in the State, Iperu Social Development Institute, Shasha, which he assured would commence the award of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates before the end of the present administration in the State, adding that government, through the Ministry had also commissioned other laudable projects ranging from solar powered lights, boreholes, renovation of schools and Primary Health Centres among others.
Earlier, the Oluwo of Iperu, High Chief Saheed Opeodu, appreciated the management team, led by Hon. Ademola Balogun, while appealing for the continued support of the State government through the Ministry at ensuring all round development in the town, noting that, the Chief-in- Council and the people of Iperu are opened to innovative ideas that would foster further growth and development in the land.
Reacting, the Apena of Iperu, High Chief Rasaki Oso, prayed that the Ministry and State Government would continue to record more success in all its programmes and policies to better the lives of the people and the State at large.
Other members of the team included the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Gbadegesin Omoniyi, Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Babayode Tunde, Director of Community, Mr. Olanrewaju Fayoyin and the Acting General Manager, Community and Social Development Agency, Mr. Adelaja Rahman.
