OGSG CONDUCTS CBT, ORAL INTERVIEW FOR MIDWIFERY ENTRANTS

 


The Ogun State Government has successfully conducted a Computer Based Test (CBT) alongside Oral Interview for prospective students entering its Basic Midwifery Programme in the State.


The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, represented by the Acting Director Nursing Services, Mrs. Sherifat Aminu, at  the  venue, Ogun State College of Nursing Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, said the assessment includes  rigorous evaluation criteria designed to measure the candidates' knowledge and Competencies as well as their communication skills during the oral interview segment, saying by incorporating technology through CBT, the State government seeks to streamline the selection process and ensure transparency and fairness.


He revealed that criteria used for the selection includes, candidate must have passed Secondary School, having credit in Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, and must be 17 years of age and above.


Dr. Oladehinde added that, 598 candidates applied for the programme, but only 300 would be admitted to cover the three campuses which were, Colleges of Nursing Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Ilaro.


The provost, Ogun State College of Nursing, Dr. Jeminat Sodimu, said the present administration remains committed to strengthening its healthcare workforce and improving health systems, positioning itself as a leader in healthcare education and service delivery. He added that, all applicants would be updated on further steps in the admission process.


In their reaction, two of the candidates, Odusola Folasewa and Barnabas Samuel were happy for the programme, saying it would afford them the opportunity of contributing their quota towards improving maternal and child health outcomes in the State.
