ODOGBOLU LG MARKS 100 DAY WITH COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE INITIATIVE



As Part of activities line up to mark first 100 Days in Office, Odogbolu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Diya, has Launched a comprehensive Healthcare Initiative (CHI) with over 7,000 selected residents to benefit from the free medical screening and Health Insurance Scheme across the Council Area.


Hon. Diya made this known while flagging-off the health programme, tagged, "Iwosan Tunde", at Mobalufon Hall Ground, to screen 5,000 people for Non-Communicable Diseases and also enroll over 2,000 for Health Insurance Scheme across the Local Government Area.


He said his team was fully committed to advancing the "ISEYA mantra" agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun's led-administration, with a focus to ensure that, every resident of Odogbolu have access to quality healthcare delivery that would promote their livelihood.


"As I reflect on the past 100 days in office as the Chairman of this Council, I recall the promises made during our campaign to improve the quality of life of our people in our various communities and build the Odogbolu Local Government of our dreams.


"Today, the Council is in a strong position and we can all be proud of it. It’s indeed a secure environment with the promise of a brighter future for our children and generations to come", the Council boss said.


The Chairman rolled out some of his achievements since his assumption of office to include, Renovation of Odogbolu Central Mosque, Commissioning of Brand-new Borehole at Ikosa, Medical Outreach programmes and Palliative Distribution: facilitated by the Odogbolu Community Development Council (OCDC) in collaboration with the community Services Federation of Bermuda and Babcock University, benefiting 300 aged persons.


He also added the, waste to wealth programme, facilitation of the Alpine Care Groups in partnership with Odogbolu Local Government for public healthcare revitalisation and the ongoing ‘Iwosan Tunde" Initiative, aimed at screening 5000 residents and enrolling 2000 in the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme under the Ministry of Health, among others.


Speaking at the event, the Dagburewe of Idowa, HRH. Oba Sikiru Adefuwape, urged the Chairman to strengthen implementation of his healthcare delivery, by ensuring that the initiatives extend beyond primary and secondary levels, but also include, tertiary healthcare services, considering the economic realities of the people.


 Meanwhile, the Special Assistant on Youth Development and Technology Innovation, Hon. Dennis Ogunnaike, commended the Chairman and congratulated the people of Odogbolu for having such health initiative to benefit from, describing the "Iwosan Tunde" initiative as a response to the healthcare deficiencies observed across 15 wards in Odogbolu Local Government Area, explaining that, the initiatives aligned with Prince Dapo Abiodun's Iseya mantra in the State.
