LAND DEALING: OGHA REFERS PETITION AGAINST ASHIMOLOWO TO HOUSE COMMITTEES, SEEKS RELIEF FOR DISASTER VICTIMS

Ogun State House of Assembly today refered a petition against one Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo on the sale of land at Bluestone Garden City, on allegation

bordering on harassment and intimidation in the course of land business transactions with the Arc- View investment limited as petitioned by its CEO, Segun Oshundairo to the House Committees on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions as well as Lands and Housing.

The House Committee Chairman on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions, Hon. Oluseun Adesanya, while presenting the petition before the State House of Assembly during the plenary did a brief on the allegations levelled against Ashimolowo in relation to the transactions on the land matter at the Blue Garden City, Mowe Town.

Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, charged the petition to the House Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions as well as that of Lands and Housing to invite the concerned parties in the petition for further legislative deliberations.

In another development, the Assembly has passed a resolution calling on the State Government to direct the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to, as a matter of urgency, provide succor to the victims of the recent storm that ravaged Ikangba community in Odogbolu Local Government Area, as well as other parts of the State that had experienced similar natural disasters in the recent times.

The Assembly passed the resolution following the extensive debate on the motion sponsored by the Assembly’s Minority Leader, Lukman Adeleye, who lamented that the incident also affected schools in the community.

The debate was supported by other lawmakers, with a call on the Managements of the State Ministries of Environment, Education, Science and Technology as well as SEMA and the State Teaching Service Commission to appear before the State lawmakers on Thursday, 27th February, 2025 for an interface with the Assembly.
