Yunusa Ari, the Resident Electoral Commissioner dismissed by the Independent National Electoral Commission for announcing that Aishatu Binani won the controversial 2023 governorship election.

Ari while speaking over the weekend claimed he has undeniable evidence to prove that Binani, the 2023 governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election.

He also accused INEC of tactically suppressing electoral documents which he previously submitted in regard to the election.

Ari said in the documents he submitted to INEC, there were unprecedented irregularities perpetuated in favour of Ahmadu Fintiri who was declared winner of the election.

Stating that his dismissal from INEC was politically motivated to cover up the truth, Ari alleged that the Adamawa governorship election tribunal also ignored his testimony and documentary evidence tendered before it.

The sacked REC denied claims that he received N2 billion as a bribe from the APC’s 2023 governorship candidate to influence a possible victory.

He further stated that he was currently consulting with his family to determine his next line of action on the matter as he had been victimised unfairly.
