...........Commends Governor Dapo Abiodun for leadership foresight.
A community leader and All Progressive Congress Chieftain in Ogun State, Otunba Babatunde Onakoya has said that creation of a new state from old Ijebu Province comprising Remo and Ijebu divisions is long overdue.
Speaking at the group stakeholders meeting in his country home in Atiba Ijebu ode on Saturday ,Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, said this is the right time for people of Ijebu division to grab what they had been yearning for in the years past.
He advised the people of Remo and Ijebu divisions to unite and avoid sentiments, among other things that could hinder the realisation of the long standing aspiration.
He called all the committees in charge to shun selfishness by putting posterity in consideration, just as he noted that posterity will judge every individual and they should works towards writing their names in gold.
He further pleaded with the National Assembly and President Bola Tinubu to honour both the Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the Paramount ruler of Ijebuland Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona with the creation of Ijebu State due to there contributions to the country
Onakoya used the occasion to commend the State Governor ,Prince Dapo Abiodun for securing series of foreign investments to the state, adding that the achievements would not have been possible without the leadership's foresight of the governor.
