The Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed has called on President Bola Tinubu to review his administration’s policies in order the alleviate the plight of ordinary Nigerians.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by some Islamic clerics, the governor said that the policies being launched by the present administration at the national level are not working. The clerics were led by Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.
Mohammed further urged the president to ensure that he puts his ears to the ground and listen to the plight of Nigerians who he has sworn an oath to serve.
He also called on President Tinubu to work towards correcting some of his past mistakes with a focus on making life easy for the citizenry.
“Take for instance the Tax reform policy. Of course, no government can survive without revenue; if for instance the sources of its revenue can be blocked, no one can run it,” Mohammed said.
Speaking further, the governor added that it is a well fact that they (Northern governors) are not in good terms with the president.
He said, “I am sure you have heard that we are quarrelling with the president. Yes, it is true we are quarrelling because our people are suffering and the president has refused to listen to us.”
The governor also mentioned to the scholars that he had earlier thought of meeting with Sheikh Jingir to discuss the matter.
“You are among the few personalities that can approach the president on this issue. You are one of the people that the president listens to,” Governor Mohammed said.
