Sagamu Local Government has sworn in Hon. Onalaja Kolawole as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) of the Council, based on his leadership style, competence and ability to deliver on the job.

The Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Jubril Odulate stated this at the swearing in of the SLG, at the Council Secretariat.

Hon. Odulate charged the new SLG to see his reappointment as a call to service and a litmus test on his personality, urging him to retain the confidence reposed in him and discharge his duties effectively, fostering transparency, inclusiveness and efficiency in all his official engagements.

“You have been nominated to give exemplary services as the job is not for the Chairman alone, but a joint responsibility with expectations to meet the needs of our people at the grassroot," he said.

He appreciated the Governor for the various developmental projects embarked upon in the community, especially the commencement of the Aiyepe road as promised, during the electioneering campaign, calling on the people to continue to support the present administration by paying their taxes and levies as and when due, to compliment government’s efforts in the provision of more dividends of democracy through the building our future together Agenda, under the ISEYA mantra.

In his response, the newly sworn in SLG, Hon. Onalaja Kolawole appreciated the Governor and the Chairman for giving him the opportunity to serve, pledging his unalloyed support and loyalty to align with the aspiration of moving the council forward.

 Reacting, the APC leader, Pa Rafiu Opaleye, appreciated the Governor for his efforts at ensuring even distribution of dividends of democracy, thanking him for the commencement of the Aiyepe road, which is the seat of the secretariat.
