Civil/public servants as the engine room of government have been charged to rededicate themselves to the service in the new year to enable the citizens to reap more dividends of democracy in the State.
The Head of Service, Mr. Onasanya made the charge in an interview session with the pressmen in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Onasanya said that the purposeful leadership of the workers' friendly Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun made year 2024 a remarkable one for all the categories of workers in the state as Governor Abiodun's numerous gestures towards them in the year spoke volumes of his dedication to their well-being.
He chronicled some of the prioritized benefits the workers derived from the governor's people oriented policies in the outgone year to include the provision of quality training and seminars to enhance professional capacity of the workers, sales of rice at discounted price to all civil servants, launch of the public sector Health Insurance Scheme (OGSHIA), implementation of the new minimum wage of Seventh seven thousand naira and domestication of National Council on Establishment Matters resolutions in the state among other things.
Mr. Onasanya said that the future of the state depends on the collective resolve to build upon the achievements of the past year while consolidating on the foundations of the progress laid under the ' Building Our Future Together ' Agenda of the state government.
"To rejig the efficient and effectiveness of the workforce in 2025, various training programmes have been scheduled for them, I therefore urged the civil/public servants across the state to put in their best in their various endeavours as their contributions are pivotal to sustaining the momentum of progress and ensuring the continued prosperity of the public service of the state" Mr. Onasanya said.
He therefore urged the civil/public servants to uphold the reputation of the public service by exemplifying integrity, discipline and diligence as the defining principles of their daily and official conduct.
