The Kano State Commissioner for Water Corporation, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa and his team paid a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser (S.A.) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Water Resources, Hon. Damilola Otubanjo to discuss strategies to enhance partnership for improving water supply and sustainable initiatives.
The meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation in line with **SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals** to improve water access and resource management.
During the discussions, the Kano State Commissioner emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies, private stakeholders, and development partners in tackling water challenges. Hon. UmarDoguwa highlighted ongoing projects in Kano aimed at expanding clean water access and called for knowledge-sharing to drive innovation in water sustainability.
Hon. Damilola Otubanjo, The Special Adviser on SDGs and Water Resources welcomed the visit, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that support SDG 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation for all.
Both officials agreed to explore potential Public - Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the area of technology driven solutions, and community engagement to achieve long-term water sustainability.
The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening intergovernmental collaboration to strengthening water security and sustainable development across Nigeria.
