The Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has emphasized the pivotal role of the new Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) in shaping the policies and programmes of the Council.

This was made known during the swearing-in ceremony of Hon. Abiodun Oke as the new SLG, which took place at the Council Secretariat in Itoro, Ijebu-Ode.

Hon. Alebiosu expressed that the appointment of the new SLG was well deserved, highlighting that his expertise and experience make him an excellent fit for the critical role. 

"I want to urge you to strive for excellence in all that you do, to make a significant impact on the Local Government. As the Secretary, the law requires you to play a vital role in shaping the policies and programmes of our Local Government," the Council Chairman said.

He also encouraged Hon. Oke to collaborate closely with the Governor Abiodun-led administration to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Abiodun Oke, the newly sworn-in SLG, pledged to carry out his duties with unwavering dedication, integrity, and loyalty. He also committed to working hand-in-hand with the Chairman to deliver good governance to the people of Ijebu-Ode Local Government.

The Chairman of the Governor's Advisory Council, Pa Oluneye Okuboyejo, expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Chairman for providing the new Secretary the opportunity to serve, adding that the people of Ijebu-Ode would remain forever grateful.
