The Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has emphasised the pivotal role of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) in shaping the policies and programmes of the Council.

Hon. Alebiosu made this known during the Swearing-in Ceremony of Hon. Abiodun Oke, as the new SLG, which took place at the Council Secretariat, Ijebu-Ode.

The Chairman said that, the appointment of the new SLG was well deserved, highlighting that his expertise and experience makes him fit for the job. He encouraged him to put in his best and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.

"I want to urge you to strive for excellence in all that you do, to make a significant impact on the Local Government. As the Secretary, the law requires you to play a vital role in shaping the policies and programmes of our Local Government," he said.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in SLG, Hon. Abiodun Oke, pledged to carry out his duties with unwavering dedication, integrity, and loyalty, promising to work hand-in-hand with the Chairman to deliver good governance to the people of Ijebu-Ode.

The Chairman of the Governor's Advisory Council, Pa Oluneye Okuboyejo, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun and the Local Government Chairman for giving the new Secretary the opportunity to serve, adding that the people of Ijebu-Ode would be forever grateful.
