President Bola Tinubu has reacted to the plane crash in Washington DC, United States of America that has resulted to the death of 18 people.
A passenger aircraft carrying 64 people had on Wednesday, January 30, crashed into the Washington’s Potomac River.
It was gathered that the aircraft had a midair collision with a military helicopter close to the Ronald Reagan National Airport at about 9 pm.
Several others were also injured in the incident on the plane after flying from Wichita, Kansas with 60 passengers and four crew members.
Reacting to the air mishap, President Bola Tinubu in a post on his X page condoled with families and loved ones of the victims of the crash.
He posted, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Washington, D.C.
“On behalf of Nigeria, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of the United States, and all affected by this profound loss. I commend the courageous efforts of first responders and emergency teams for their selfless work in harsh conditions.
“Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States Government and its People, united in grief and hopeful for a new day.”
