"Hon. Segun Odunuga Kaka’s Community Development Initiatives Spotlighted"

In a bid to empower his constituents and improve their quality of life, Hon. Segun Odunuga Kaka, member of Ogun state house Assembly representing Ijebu north State Constituency II  has launched several community development projects. On Monday, December 30, 2024, he distributed ₦8 million to members of his constituency as part of a relief and empowerment initiative for the end-of-year celebrations.

Among the standout projects is the installation of 100 solar-powered streetlights, made possible through the support of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi. This initiative is aimed at providing improved lighting, safety, and security in the community. The solar lighting project is particularly significant, as many capital projects in the constituency are self-funded.

Hon. Kaka also shared updates on a new mini grid power station under construction, which will provide electricity to Tekun Oga, Obada, Abapan, and Eye 3 areas. This project will bypass regions already benefiting from federal electricity, ensuring optimal use of resources.

Stressing the importance of community involvement, Hon. Kaka urged residents to take responsibility for maintaining the boreholes installed in the constituency. He highlighted that while government efforts are crucial, the support and cooperation of the community are essential for sustainable development.

Regarding Governor Dapo Abiodun’s contributions, Hon. Kaka acknowledged the governor’s key achievements, including the completion of the Ilisan-Ago Iwoye road, the construction of health centers with yellow roofs, and the completion of the world-class Igan road, spanning about 300 km.

The recipients of the ₦8 million relief package included various groups and individuals, such as:

Community Leaders: Olorituns of Iwaya Ilaboru (₦500,000), Baale of Ago Iwoye (₦500,000), and Baale Oru League of Men, Ifelodun (₦500,000)

Market Women: Oru (₦300,000) and Ago Iwoye (₦400,000)
