A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Engr. Rabiu Bichi has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will emerge victorious in Kano State in the 2027 general elections.
Bichi, who is the Managing Director of Hadejia Jamaere River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), attributed his optimism to the growing unpopularity of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration in the state.
According to Bichi, the people of Kano State are tired of the current administration and are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to “pay back” by voting them out in the next elections.
He made this statement while speaking at a dinner organized by the Coalition of APC Youth Movement (CAYM) to honour three persons appointed by President Tinubu.
Bichi commended President Tinubu for his inclusive administration, which has carried Kano State along in his government. He alsolll/ criticized Governor Yusuf’s administration and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for implementing anti-people policies, which have made them unpopular among the electorate.
The APC chieftain revealed that the party is mobilizing its supporters, including the APC youths, ahead of the 2027 general elections to deliver Kano State to the party and President Tinubu. “Everyone is not happy with the administration and his party (NNPP), including those wearing red caps. They have been joining the APC in droves,” Bichi said.
Bichi’s statement comes at a time when some leaders in the north have openly opposed some of President Tinubu’s policies, saying they will impoverish the region.
This has led to concerns that the president may lose the voting strength of the north in the 2027 election, which the president is expected to run for re-election.
