All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders have stressed the need for the party to give the governorship ticket to former Ogun state House of Federal Representatives member, Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan (JKA), saying he has the midas touch to transform the state.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders in Abeokuta, a stalwart of the APC and Coordinator, JKA Concerned Volunteers Group, Mr. Adedoyin Kazeem said Amusan’s eight-year tenure in the House of Representatives witnessed massive development in infrastructure, education and health in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Kazeem noted that JKA was represented Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode and Odeda LGAs in the Lower Chamber of Representatives, saying that he brought so much development to the three local government areas represented within his period in the House.
He said many groups are on a daily basis yearning for the Amusan's candidacy in 2027 to continue his midas touch in Ogun state development agenda, saying they believe he should be given the opportunity to govern the state, so as to replicate the good gesture of the past.
Kazeem said, ‘’Within eight years in office, as a lawmaker in Abuja, he remodelled the three local government areas represented, making it an investment destination for big businesses from within and outside the country.
"He massively touched the lives of millions of Abeokuta indigenes in every sphere such that it was appeared he was the governor, as if he had been in office for a far longer period than two-term as a lawmaker in Abuja, represented three lgas in the state.
‘’He caused a paradigm shift, taking the government from the urban centre to the suburbs and opening up their narrow roads, giving them modern streets with lights and modern markets within the council areas. It’s been a seamless arrangement that has prevented urban and rural dwellers migration.
’'Amusan’s health and education initiatives equally penetrated across suburbs in Abeokuta, giving opportunities to the son of a nobody to have access to free and decent education that would prepare them for the future.
"Understanding the place of science in the current educational system, during his tenure as a member of federal house of representatives, Amusan established templates suggesting a progressive look into the future where science and tech will lead.’’
