The Iperu Youth Development Association,IpYDA , under the leadership of Comrade Ahmed Ganiu commend the move for the creation of new Ijebu state in an even and full representation of local government areas.
In a release in an early hour of today, expressed the need for urgency over the proposed local government areas under Ijebu state, released yesterday by Sen. Gbenga Daniel.
He said, "it's with great concern and patriotism, the Iperu Youth Dev' Association frowned against the measures puts in place over the proposed local government areas, particularly under Remo region, that will be birth under Ijebu state presented yesterday by Senator representing Ogun East, Sen. Gbenga Daniel".
In as much we commend this giant stride efforts put in place for years overdue clamouring for Ijebu state, things must be done in a full and even representation of interest.
As we all known, the proposed Ijebu state will be coined under the nine local government areas under Ogun East Senatorial District. It's sad seeing Ikenne local government remain the same while some local government birthed to three, two local government areas on the proposed Ijebu state.
We call on all concerned leaders and stakeholders in Ikenne local government area and Ogun state at large, as a matter of urgency to look into this uneven distribution of local government council. Ikenne local government area has done well for our democracy in this country and should be honored on an even and fair distribution of local government areas.
We proposed the current Ikenne local government should have two or more local government area and old defunct Irepodun local government area should be brought back to Iperu. We also proposed the state capital should be in Remo, not in other way as proposed Ijebu being the administrative capital and Remo being commercial capital. Clear definition has to done , making Remo the state capital. By this, we have an even and fair distribution.
