Christian workers in the State have been charged to pray for the present administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for his relentless efforts towards promoting workers’ welfare and for placing the state on higher pedestal among comity of states in the country.
State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya gave the admonition at the Christmas carol service organised by the Christian Interdenominational Worship Centre, Governor's office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Onasanya quoted the scripture on prayer for those in authority from the book of 1 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 2, saying that workers need to pray for the Governor because he is highly focused and responsive to the plight of the workers in the state among other things.
" Pray for those in authority, pray for Governor Abiodun and this administration, he is workers' friendly, he pays our salaries promptly, other welfare packages are attended to swiftly", Onasanya said.
The Head of Service said, Governor Abiodun was applauded by other Heads of Service of the federation at a meeting of the National Council on Establishment Matters held recently at Ede, Osun State for his quick domestication of the Council's resolution in the state.
He later read the third carol lesson from the book of Matthew chapter 1 verses 18 to 25 while the first and second lessons were taken by the Special Advisers to Governor on Security and Information, DIG Olusola Subair (rtd) and Hon. Kayode Akinmade respectively.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Toyin Taiwo in his welcome address said Christ is the reason for the season and everyone must focus on Him only to receive from Him because the atmosphere was charged with the power of Holy Spirit and anything could happen to those who are expectant.
The Special Adviser to Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Mrs. Ronke Soyombo gave the message at the carol service, while the State Coordinator for National Christian Workers Fellowship, Ogun State Chapter who also doubles as the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Reform, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, commended the good attendance of Christian workers from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as impressive.
