A staff of Administration and Supplies department in the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM), Mr. Olumide Ojudun, has received award for his punctuality and steadfastness at work.
Speaking during the award ceremony held at the Commission's premises in Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, sponsor of the award, a former Permanent Secretary in TESCOM, Dr. Abdul Waheed Olanloye, who congratulated the awardee for standing out among others, said the idea was conceived in December 2023, to encourage members of staff of the commission on punctuality, stating that ''being at their duty posts at the stipulated time will engender diligence and commitment to work''.
The former Permanent Secretary, while emphasising on the significance of punctuality to the progress of the Civil Service, pointed out that inculcating the habit would bring about effective service delivery in the commission and the state as a whole.
'' This award is geared towards punctuality, as a call to action that allows for competition.We need to be punctual anywhere we find ourselves, and be conscious of time, because we can never hold back time", Dr. Olanloye stated.
He admonished the management staff of the agency to always be punctual and make best use of their time, as well as spur their subordinates to emulate them, in order to earn integrity and fame.
Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi, commended Dr. Olanloye for his thoughtfulness and generosity to take the commission to higher pedestal, noting that his commitment in sustaining the award presentation was a landmark achievement.
Mrs. Ogunremi, who expressed delight over the disposition of the recipient to work, noted that his emergence was unanimously ratified, assuring that the management and staffers of the agency would continue to uphold the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the Civil Service for improved productivity.
Contributing, the Director, Management Services and Zonal Adminstration, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi, her counterparts in Appeal, Petition and Discipline, Planning, Research and Statistics, as well as Information Technology, Messrs, Tomiwa Osibodu, Olugbenga Adejonpe, Olukayode Banjo and Olubayode Majekodunmi respectively, thanked the former Permanent Secretary for the good legacy left behind, affirming that the awardee deserved the honour.
Responding, the recipient, Mr.Ojudun, appreciated the kind gesture of Dr. Olanloye for believing in the abilities of the commission's staff, as well as motivating them, saying the award would be dedicated to his late father, who always advised him to be responsible and responsive in the discharge of his duties.
