OGUN REP. MEMBER EMPOWERS CONSTITUENTS.



In a bid to foster economic empowerment and self-reliance among his constituents, a member, representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo, has provided essential tools such as Grinding Machines and Clippers to over 1000 constituents to improve their livelihood.


The equipment, distributed at the Awujale’s Pavilion in Ijebu-ode Local Government, also includes sewing machines, pumping machines, dryers, fertilizers and various other items aimed at supporting small businesses. 


The initiative was part of the Lawmaker’s ongoing commitment to enhancing livelihoods and creating sustainable opportunities within his Constituency.


In his address, Hon. Ogunbanwo emphasised the importance of fostering local businesses and providing tools that can help individuals grow their trades and contribute to the local economy.


" The Empowerment is aimed at reducing the rate of unemployment in our society and also tow the line of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA Mantra in the State, by equipping the community with these practical resources. My hope is to reduce unemployment, enhance financial independence, and promote long-term economic growth within the constituency" the Lawmaker said.


Also Speaking, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Deji Ashiru said the empowerment would go a long way in improving the livelihood and economic standing of the beneficiaries.


In an interview, APC Chairman, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Alhaji Surajudeen Omologere, said the empowerment is a ground breaking one, adding that the resources would enhance the beneficiaries in terms of services and productivity.


Some of the beneficiaries, in an interview, Mrs. Grace Bello and Mr. Taofeek Adebowale in their remarks, thanked the Lawmaker for the kind gesture, saying the equipment given to them would be judiciously used to improve their livelihood.
