Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and other eminent Nigerians have felicitated the 36th Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Abiodun Alamutu as he bows out after 32 years of service.
The Governor who celebrated the CP’s commitment to service, made this known in his address at the Pull-Out Parade held in his honour at the Arcade ground, Governor's office secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun appreciated Alamutu for his immense dedication to duty, saying he has demonstrated unrelenting commitment at maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety of the citizens of the state and safeguarding peace in our communities.
'’Throughout your career, you have exemplified highest standard of professionalism, integrity and service to the nation. Today's celebration is a testament to a life devoted to making our society safer and better for all. Your career in law enforcement has been marked with courage, integrity and upholding the law, while prioritising the life of our people", he said.
"As we all know that Ogun state is recognised as one of the states with the fastest growing economy in West Africa, this has a possible impact, due to the security foundation laid by exemplary leaders such as CP Alamutu who used his office to ensure safety of lives and property through collaboration and strategic partnerships"
"As the 36 CP in Ogun, he navigated the complexities of modern policing with foresight and diligence, his tenure was marked by equipping officers with training and resources needed to excel, fostering trust between the law enforcement agencies and the public, a bond that is indispensable for a safe and harmonious society".
The Governor hinted that the pull-out parade was not just about years served, but a life well lived in the service of others. He noted that Alamutu’s legacies was filled with vision, humility and dedication, as his efforts has not only strengthened security of Ogun state but has left an indelible mark on the society.
"As we bid you farewell, let us focus not on the side of parting, but on the remarkable contributions and accomplishment that defines your legacy. While your official work completes today, the impact you have made will continue to resonate for generations.
'’Our administration remains steadfast in implementing and building our future together agenda, we understand that security is not solely about equipment or technology, it requires collaboration among government security agencies and citizens. To this end, we will continue prioritising resources, funding and infrastructure needed to sustain a secured environment. We also call on all security agencies to persist in their efforts to protect lives and property and ensure that Ogun state remains an haven of peace and prosperity" .
Also speaking the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, represented by AIG Adegoke Fayoade, described CP Alamutu as a diligent, dedicated, gallant and hardworking officer who has served the nation meritoriously, saying he is an exceptional and a dependable officer who has touched countless lives positively.
Earlier in their remarks, the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and the Akarigbo of Remoland, HRM Oba Babatunde Ajayi, congratulated the outgoing commissioner on his retirement, saying the pull out parade signifies a career full of dedication to duties, hard work and outstanding performance, noting that asides the fact that he ensured peace, he also promoted security in the state. His contributions at the United Nations while on mission, cannot be over emphasised.
The Royal fathers commended the outgoing CP for his doggedness and zeal in security matters, emphasising that he approached every challenge with integrity and commitment during his tenure as CP in Ogun State which has helped in reducing crimes and promoting peace in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the outgoing CP Abiodun Alamutu said his service years has been a journey filled with challenges, triumph and unwavering commitment towards ensuring peace and security.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for their steadfast commitment and support to the Police, urging officers that are still in service to always uphold the value of integrity and be more dedicated to duties.
