The residents of Ife-Isokan in Ijeja, Abeokuta , Ogun State were filled with joy as lawmaker, representing Abeokuta South State Constituency 11, Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, Popularly known as IWA donated borhole to them to fight water borne disease.
Excited youths in the community led the lawmaker to the site, singing and dancing, praising IWa for responding to their yearning.
IWA during the commissioning of the borehole on Friday said that the gesture was occasioned by the demand of the people.
According to him, it is part of his commitment to providing clean and accessible water to communities in need.
The lawmaker stressed the importance of the project to the community, noting that water was one of the most important God-given natural resources.
He reiterated his commitment and dedication to the improvement of the welfare of his constituents
The lawmaker said " Today, I am donating a borehole to our people in Ife Isokan in Ijeja as to fight water borne dsease and to address water problem in the area.
"I took time to ask for my people's demands, and one of them is water, which necessitated the provision of this borehole in this community.
“The request came from the people and i have done what they wanted. I want to assure our people that I will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to them.
Meanwhile, Mrs Faleye, the Chairperson Egba Agbeyin CDC showered praises on the lawmaker, describing him as a man of his words.
She said IWA would forever be remembered the borehole, noting that it would solve water crisis in the area.
The Chairman of the community, Pastor Ojedele commended the lawmaker for his intervention, saying the gesture was borne out of love and passion to address the problems of the people.
He submitted that the lawmaker has done marvelously well, adding that he has done beyond the function of a legislator.
Pastor Ojedele urged other lawmakers in the State to emulate IWA for his good gesture
