Hon. Moruf Erubami has finally emerged as the leader of the legislative arm of Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun State.
This is as the inauguration of the councillors turned violent upon the emergence of Erubami as the house leader.
According to sources within the local government, nine of the sixteen legislators in the local government are in support of Erubami.
It was learnt that upon his decoration as the Leader of the house and having delivered his acceptance speech, Police officers attached to the council chairman allegedly started shooting sporadically in front of the chambers.
Also, the chairman boys; Agbara Kazeem, Solomon Akinbo (APC L.G Youth Leader ) & Sen. Kay (S.A Media to the Chairman) invaded the legislative chambers and carted away with the mace.
This prompt party members present at the event to scamper for safety.
Recall that crisis has rocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North over who becomes the Leader of the House in Legislative arm of the council.
Based on the current permutation, it's the turn of Oke-ogun community where Erubami hailed from to produce the leader of the house and Secretary of Local Government (SLG) to Gbagura after the incumbent Council chairman has emerged from Oke-ona and his Vice from Owu Community respectively.
But it was reliably gathered that some party hierarchy led by the local government party chairman, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi are making efforts to push the position of the leader of the House from Oke-ogun, a plot that has been thwarted with the emergence of Erubami.
