OGUN GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO THE RESOLUTIONS OF NATIONAL COUNCIL OF ESTABLISHMENTS




 


The National  Council on Establishments (NCE) has re- affirmed the cultural importance of core Civil Service values of accountability, meritocracy , professionalism and efficiency which must remain the guiding principles in the discharge of Public Service Service duties.


The is just as the commitment of the Ogun State  Government to  the implementation of the resolutions of the Council was re- emphasised at the 46th meeting of the Council held in Ede, Osun State.

 

The National Council of Establishments which is the highest policy-making body for the Public Service is chaired by the Head of Service of the Federation with Heads of Service of the 36 States and FCT.


Speaking under matters arising from the earlier meetings of  Council, Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, told the Conference that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State has domesticated the resolutions of the National Council on Establishments in the State which include Redesignation of Information Officer Cadre as Information and Public Relations Officer Cadre, conversion from Executive/Superintendent/Technical Cadres to Professional/Officer Cadres, enhanced entrypoint for engineers, GL09.


He said Governor Abiodun had also approved an enhanced entrypoint for Nursing Officer Cadre Salary Grade Level 10 -17 for Bsc while the state is ahead in the adoption of modern technology and digitization of the confirmatory promotion examinations within the Civil Service.


The Head of Service descibed Prince Dapo Abiodun as highly committed to developing the core values and improved service delivery, and added that capacity building of the workforce featured prominently in the scheme of things of the administration.


Highlights of the communique issued at the end of the meeting included the need for continued collaboration on best practices between the Head of Service of the Federation and the States' Heads of Service, the mandatory assessment based training for officers on GL 14 seeking promotion to Directorate level to bridge the knowledge gap and equip officers with necessary competency and confidence expected of directorate level officers in the discharge of their duties, the adoption of modern technology and innovation in administrative processes and digitization of the COMPRO examinations within the service  as well as the creation of Audio/ Speech therapist Cadre in the service.
