Towards curbing some anomalies and ensuring smooth running of activities in schools, Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has reviewed the data update procedure of learners in both public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as interstate transfers on its Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA) platform.
Commissioner in the Ministry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, revealed this while engaging stakeholders on a Webinar meeting, saying the exercise was to allow due process, ensure uniformity and data accuracy of learners’ record, as well as demystify the notion that the state does not admit students from other states.
Prof. Arigbabu explained that approval for Learners Identification Number (LIN), could be granted for students in private school after request for interstate transfer must have been initiated, while verification would be conducted afterwards, to ensure that learner's record was not on the platform.
He added that modification of the platform had been limited to one request in a session, while those relating to surname had been deactivated, warning schools to desist from manipulation on the platform, as such acts would attract consequences and sanctions.
