OGSG OPENS BID TO REVITALISE 75 PHCs

In an effort to ensure adequate and effective healthcare delivery for the citizenry, Ogun State government with support from World Bank, has opened bid for upgrading and revitalisation of 75 selected Public Health Centers (PHCs) across the 20 Local Governments.

The bid, which comes under the Immunisation Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) Project, had over 25 eligible bidders conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedure, adding that it was divided into five lots for five deserving companies with financial and technical strength.

Speaking during the bid opening in Abeokuta, Executive Secretary, Primary Healthcare Development Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, said the goal of the process was to provide a wider coverage of healthcare centred on people's needs and preferences.

Dr. Ogunsola stated that the project was borne out of Governor Dapo Abiodun's goodwill, to enable people access healthcare services in every part of the state, adding that revitalisation of selected PHCs would improve health indices of the state.

In his remarks, World Bank consultant on the project, Arc. Bolaji Anjorin, said the Bank’s collaboration was to bring healthcare delivery to the doorstep of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the bidders, Mr. Isaac Mathew of Cedar Jasper Concept Ltd, and Mrs. Delia Omatshola of Peculiar Peoples Management, lauded the process, describing it as fair and transparent.
