As part of efforts to open rural communities to more economic prosperity, Ogun State Government through its anchor agency, Ogun Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), has opened another bid for the upgrading of 42.23km rural roads and physical improvement of Agro Logistics Centres across the three Senatorial Districts in the state.
It would be recalled that similar exercise was done in July 2024, where 64.01 kilometers of road was bided for.
Declaring the bid open at RAAMP office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Commissioner for Rural Development, Mrs. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan, said the bidding process was geared towards achieving food security and to open doors for prospective investors into the state.
Ilori-Oduntan stated that the project would not only enhance the livelihood of the rural dwellers but also ensure availability of farm produce in time of scarcity, appreciating the bidders for taking interest in the development of the state, while assuring them of fairness and transparency in the selection process.
Contributing, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Oluwaseyi Sokoya said due diligence would be observed in the selection process, admonishing the bidders to ensure quality job delivery, whenever the contract is awarded to any of them.
Earlier, State Project Coordinator, Engr. Waheed Adejumo informed the bidders that their tenders would be properly evaluated with utmost transparency and accountability before it would be awarded.
Speaking on behalf of the bidders, Mr. Lawal Adeola, representing DC Engineering Limited and Mr. Abimbola Owolabi representing OKD Construction limited, appreciated the state government for considering local contractors for the proposed road project.
