The crucial role of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Hajj operations in the Ogun State cannot be overemphasized towards ensuring a hitch-free exercise.
Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Ajibola Taiwo, made this known during a visit to the agency’s State Command, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, appreciating its support for the successful implementation of previous Hajj operations.
Alh. Taiwo explained that the visit was to intimate the agency of the commencement of year 2025 Hajj, and seek for its sustenance on the enlightenment programmes on prohibited foods and drugs, as well as profiling of pilgrims before embarking on the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Responding, State Commander, NDLEA, Commander Tijani Rabe, commended the efforts of the Board in promoting the wellbeing of pilgrims both in the state and holyland, saying the visit was a way of restrategising and strengthening the bond between both agencies, promising that the NDLEA would not relent in carrying out its statutory functions where necessary.
