IJEBU-ODE LG INAUGURATES ECONOMIC REVITALISATION COMMITTEE

 


            Executive Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government of Ogun State, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has inaugurated a six-man committee on Economic Development and Revitalisation, to chart a new way forward towards boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the council.                                                                                  


Speaking during the inauguration of the Committee, at the council Secretariat, Hon. Alebiosu tasked the committee to think out of the box and generate new ideas for upliftment and socio-economic growth of the area.


He stated that members of the committee were selected for their expertise, dedication, extensive experience in key sectors essential to development goals of the new council administration, noting that they were to evaluate current economic landscape, identify challenges and provide actionable recommendations that would accelerate growth and enhance livelihoods of the people.


          "This committee has been carefully constituted to be the head of Ijebu-Ode Local Government in repositioning its economy. They should diversify the council’s economic focus, reduce dependence on allocation, be self-sustaining, resilient, ensure inclusiveness for the benefit of all residents’’, he said.


In his remarks, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Sulaiman Ayinla, pointed out that members of the committee were professionals from various fields with wealth of experience, assuring that they would deliver on the mandate of the council authority.


The economic committee comprised, Hon. Titi Adeyemi as Chairman, while  Dr. Olatokunbo Tosin, Dr. Alaba Oshikoya, Mrs. Aderibigbe, Mr. Ope Osisanwo, Mr. Yusuf Oduwole, would serve as members.


In his remarks, Hon. Adeyemi, appreciated the local government Chairman for the confidence reposed in them in revitalising economic prosperity of the council area, towards achieving the set objectives.
