The newly elected Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has assured the people of Ijebu-Ode of various developmental initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic development and well-being of residents in the area.
Speaking upon his resumption, Hon. Alebiosu, said his administration would build on the achievements of his predecessor, towards achieving the ‘’Building our Future Together’’ agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
He stated that the new administration had lofty initiatives in place with blueprint of developmental projects and programmes for the people of the area, seeking residents’ cooperation in achieving the council’s aspirations.
"I promise to continue on the path of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun. My administration’s focus will be on provision of impactful social amenities, reviving dilapidated infrastructure, and to prioritise implementation of youth empowerment programme and many more, within the limits of available resources", he said.
The Chairman called on Council's staff to support his administration and embrace the positive changes ahead, emphasising the crucial role of career officers in grassroot development.
In his remarks, Head of Local Government Administration in the council, Mr. Sulaiman Ayinla, while speaking on behalf of members of the management and staffers, appreciated God for his mercies over the new leadership of the local government, promising workers’ commitment for success of the new administration.
Meanwhile, the 10th Legislative Council of Ijebu-Ode LG has been inaugurated by Hon. Dare Alebiosu, with a charge that they should deliberate on initiatives that would bring about democratic progress in the council.
In his address, the Chairman urged the newly inaugurated councilors to prioritise transparency, accountability and welfare of the people in the discharge of their legislative duties.
In his Acceptance Speech, Leader of the House, Hon. Sesan Adenaike, said the 10th Legislative Council was ready to work for the development of the area, foster inclusivity and progress, while carrying out their constitutional duties, assuring that over all interest of the people would be their watchword.
In his remarks, the Clerk of the House, Mr. Akinbola Akintiku, enjoined the councilors to see their emergence as a call to serve the people of Ijebu-Ode and the state at large.
