REMO INDIGENES LEVERAGE TOWN HALL MEETING TO ATTRACT DEVELOPMENT

 


Some Remo indigenes across the three Local Government Areas have hailed the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for availing them the opportunity of giving their inputs and contributions on socio-economic development, towards ensuring a robust and implementable year 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2025 Budget for improved well-being of people in the zone.    


Speaking during Remo Royal Event Centre at Akarigbo’s Palace, Ita-Oba Sagamu, venue of Town Hall meeting, some participants, including, Head of Local Government Area (HOLGA), Remo North, Mr. Mayowa Oyedele, appreciated government for improving the standard of education in the area, appealing that government should improve the conducive learning environment for children, while also seeking that digital learning facilities be provided in schools.


  In their separate remarks, representatives of the Muslim and Christian   communities, Alhaji Mikail Adesanya, as well as Apostle Daniel Olufemi, respectively, urged government to employ more religious teachers in schools and give out more palliatives to alleviate the suffering of the people in the harsh economy.


The Iyaloja-General for Sagamu Local Government, Chief Mrs Olasode Oduwaye, applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for promoting traders’ financial empowerment across the state, while the state Treasurer for Community Development Council, High Chief Femi Adetayo, lauded the present administration for sustaining the Town Hall meeting and urged it to put in more efforts at ensuring the security of lives and property in the axis.


Expressing hope that government would implement the Disability Law and promote insurance health benefits that would ensure their well-being, Chairman, Joint National Association of People With Disabilities (PWD), Dr. Michael Ebonhan, urged government not to take people’s contributions with levity during policy making process and implementation for the socio-economic development of the state.


On his part, Remo Youth representative, Comrade Bidemi Solarin, praised the state government for its strides in infrastructure development across Remo Division, particularly the construction of the Sagamu Interchange Road, calling for increased security architecture to fortify lives and property of people in Remo.


Also, the state Treasurer, Community Development Council, High Chief Femi Adetayo, commended the present administration for the rehabilitation of roads in the area, appealing for reconstruction of bad roads, including, Ode to Akaka, Odo-Ona, Orile-Oko, Atoyo, Isopo, Egbe, Likosi-Simawa Roads, among others.


Contributing on behalf of students, who were not left out, Senate President, National Association of Polytechnic Students, (NAPS) Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade, Comrade Abdullah Popoola, requested for a bus, library and hostel accommodation to alleviate the suffering of students in the school.


The Leader of Remo Women Organisation, Alhaja Asafat Sasore, implored government to organise vocational trainings, empowerment programmes for women in the Division, as well as include skill acquisition in secondary school activities, soliciting for land to build its secretariat.
