Ogun State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced its 2024 sensitisation programme in preparation for the December Holy Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. Ibiyemi Oduyemi, who disclosed this at a meeting in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the programme was towards mobilising more intending Pilgrims across Remo, Ẹgba, Yewa and Ijebu to obtain application forms.

Mr. Ibiyemi added that the statutory responsibility of the Board was to inform Christian bodies in the state and avail them information and necessary requirement of the pilgrimage, which encompasses its spiritual importance and biblical relevant.

The Board Secretary explained that the sensitisation programme had helped in awakening the consciousness of Christians to the importance of participating in Christian pilgrimage, noting that the exercise was biblical and beneficial for the spiritual well-being and growth of Christians.

 “As part of efforts to create a state-wide awareness about the December 2024 pilgrimage exercise, the Board has rolled out jingles, advertisements and announcements on radio stations to promote religious unity, inclusiveness and participatory spirit among various Christian denominations in the state”, he said.

The Board Secretary urged all intending Christians for the exercise to obtain application forms at the Board's Office, New Secretariat Complex, Block B, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, calling on Christian philanthropists, Churches and corperate organisations to support Christians who were willing to embark on the pilgrimage.
