Determined to provide better health service delivery for citizens and residents who have embraced and enrolled with the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency (OGSHIA), the state Hospitals Management Board (HMB), has procured and distributed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) gadgets, including Tablets to government's General Hospitals across the state.
While presenting the gadgets to the Chief Medical Directors and Desk Officers of the Hospitals, Permanent Secretary of the Board, Dr. Yinka Elemide, disclosed that the ICT tools would improve data capturing and gathering of patients' information.
Dr. Elemide added that the gadgets, which had OGSHIA compliance application installed, along with password enabled goggle sheet, would aid in accurate and prompt submission of data, thereby ensuring effective and efficient health care services to the people.
"As we all know that insurance is actually the way to go and if we don't have our data well captured and promptly transmitted to the appropriate quarters, it would affect our reporting and that is how we can evaluate our processes, monitor and know how well we are doing", he said.
The Permanent Secretary, who disclosed that Data Officers across all the secondary health facilities had undergone training to effectively operate the gadgets, charged them to be diligent and justify the resources expended on the Tablets.
Appreciating the state government for procuring the gadgets, Chief Medical Directors, Oba Ademola Maternity Hospital, Dr. Olugbenga Taiwo and his counterpart from Olikoye Ransom Kuti Memorial Hospital, Dr. Olujimi Dipeolu, said the gadgets would facilitate seamless capturing and prompt submission of data to appropriate quarters.
