The presidency has ruled out the possibility of former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Betta Edu, returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Recall that Edu was suspended on January 8 following widespread anger over an alleged N585 million scandal.
Prior to the Wednesday cabinet reshuffling, there were speculations that the suspended minister may return to the government.
However, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said on Sunday that “Betta Edu is gone.”
According to him, the president has appointed her replacement from Plateau State.
“Betta Edu is gone. Her position has been taken by someone from Plateau State. As far as this government is concerned, there is no place for her in this cabinet.
The EFCC has not shared what they have but if you go by what the president has done, it shows that EFCC must have submitted something that actually justified that suspension,” he said in an interview with Channels TV.
