GOV. ABIODUN'S AIDE RENOVATES CLASSROOMS

 


Towards ensuring conducive teaching and learning environment, Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, has renovated Two Blocks of 10 classrooms at St. Paul's Anglican Primary School I, Sagamu.


Mrs. Soyombo, during the commissioning of the renovated classrooms, said the gesture was to complement government's effort in providing a befitting education system to the citizenry, assuring that part of the building set aside as computer rooms would soon be equipped with 50 sets of computers, to further make learners digitally literate.


The Governor’s aide, said the gesture to renovate her father's Alma mater, was necessitated by the need to support the present government in its quest to provide qualitative education, urging public-spirited individuals and corporate bodies in the state, to adopt a school for constructions, rehabilitation and renovation.


"I like to implore the sons and daughters of Sagamu land to adopt a school, so that the glory of our schools can come back and for each school to be transformed for required standard of education", Soyombo said.


In his remarks, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu commended the donor for giving back to the society, assuring that the ministry would ensure provision of furniture to all the classes for easy learning process of the pupils.


Also speaking, his counterpart in the Environment Ministry, Hon. Ola Oresanya described the gesture as selfless and zealous, calling on others to emulate the good deed, in order to build a great future for the education sector in the state.


On his part, Chairman Trade Union Congress, Ogun State Chapter, Com. Akeem Lasisi said the initiative was community-driven, which would be beneficial to the future generation, advising learners to see themselves as direct beneficiaries.


In their goodwill messages, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Ajayi, represented by Elemuren of Emuren, Oba Adesegun Alowonle, Aminisan of Okoland, Oba Gabriel Odunayo, Asiwaju of Remoland, Chief Solomon Onafowokan described the project as a worthwhile development in Sagamu.


In her welcome address, the School Headteacher, Mrs. Bantale Oluleye, represented by Mrs. Janet Odunuga, appreciated the donor for the project, promising to make good use of the classrooms.
