GOV. ABIODUN FELICITATES CHIEF FADAIRO ON INVESTITURE AS BABA IJO

 


The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described one of the Elderstatemen in the Gateway State, Chief Joju Fadairo as a man of peace whose appointment as Baba Ijo was borne out of commitment to the meritorious years of dedication to the service of God and humanity.


The Governor stated this at the Investiture and Installation of Chief Joju Fadairo as the Baba Ijo of Christ Anglican Church, Oba-Eerin, held at the church auditorium, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State.


Represented by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the Governor said he is confident that Chief Joju's wealth of experience and personal attributes of courage, tenacity, selflessness and love for humanity has put him in good stead to discharge the duties of the new role.


"Your nomination and conferment as the Baba Ijo of Christ Anglican Church is not just filling a routine position; rather, it is a testimony of your years of ardent dedication, devotion, unwavering faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ.


'It is an attestation of your selfless service in the House of God. You have been extremely courageous, always serving as a rallying point for people in the Lord's vineyard and becoming a beacon of hope for upcoming generations", the Governor said.


Prince Abiodun felicitated Chief Fadairo and the members of Christ Anglican Church, Oba-Eerin and prayed God almighty to continue to watch over the Baba Ijo and crown all his efforts with success to make him remain a source of inspiration and wise counsel to all.


Earlier in a sermon, the Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Egba West, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Samuel Ogundeji said God chose Chief Fadairo as the Baba Ijo because He knows his capability and ready to use him to bear undying fruits, thus, he must be supportive of all the church's activities.


He encouraged him to live up to the responsibility to serve the church by promoting unity among members, show christian leadership traits within the community, lead by example in all things, promote members' welfare and make members tow the right path in order to keep lifting the church to enviable heights.


In a response, the new Baba Ijo of the Church, Chief Abraham Olajoju Fadairo, appreciated God for sparing his life thus far and for the grace to be installed as the Baba Ijo, with a pledge that he would serve God and humanity diligently.


He appreciated the leadership of the church for his choice and solicited for unflinching support to succeed in the new assignment and also thanked all dignitaries who graced the investiture.


Dignitaries at the installation included an elderstateman, Chief Bode George, former Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji-Isola, the Pro-chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Prof. Toyin Ashiru, Chief Pegba Otemolu, political stalwarts amongst others.
