It appears time is ticking fast against the wanted notorious bandit commander, Bello Turji, as multiple reports suggest that one of his close allies, a bandit kingpin, Baleri Fakai, has been killed by joint security forces.
The reports say Fakai was neutralized alongside 30 terrorists in Maru LGA, Zamfara State.
The news of his killing has also been shared by former Presidential aide Bashir Ahmed on his X handle on Monday.
Ahmed wrote, “WONDERFUL: It has been confirmed that the joint security forces have eliminated the notorious bandit leader Baleri Fakai, along with 30 other terrorists, in Maru, Zamfara state. Baleri Fakai was a close ally to murderer Bello Turji, who will be joining him soon, in Sha Allah.”
Recall that the killing of Fakai comes a few days after Nigerian Army operatives killed a notorious bandit commander, Kachallah Buzu, and his fighters.
Buzu, said to be the boss of Turji was neutralized the night of September 12 in Mayanchi village by troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest OPHD in Zamfara state after an ambush was laid by the military following intelligence reports on the terrorists’ movements.
Aside from Buzu, troops also killed another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, in a Joint Operation in Katsina and busted a terrorist enclave in Kaduna, where 13 kidnapped students were freed.
Politics Nigeria gathered that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa had said time is ticking against Turji and other bandits and terrorists as troops are committed to ending insecurity in Zamfara and the North West Zone.
