I have yet to understand whether our leaders know what governance is and their duties to the citizens they are governing or what they do think they are before the masses and the electorates?
And I have yet to understand what the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Ms. Surah Animashaun, is up to, and who she is really governing, the Godfather or the Citizens which is the masses who voted him into power?
It is a pity that Odubote-Nitel, Oke-Posu, Ajanosi, Ajagannabe, Eyinde, Alausa, roads under her locality needs little patching at some spots. There are bad spots by Oke-Balogun Street, then Etitun, Shade, Papa, Erepoto and recreation ground link roads, that have been giving motorists hardship and crying for attention for the past years now, that require less than a some Million Naira to fix.
How do we explain the deplorable state of the roads in the State? The Chairman of the Council, Ms. Animashaun, does not bother to alleviate the sufferings of the people of the area in terms of dredging waterways and patching up potholes of deplorable roads.
In fact, we are always met with craters and gullies of unimaginable proportions that baffles one how we go through these roads everyday. The Lagos State government should deliver us from an inefficient council Chairman and her avalanche of promises to repair the roads after spending one term in office.
Though, we may not survive the next few rains in the area as predicted by NIMET if a drastic action is not taken. Moreover, this is the Chairman that is seeking for reelection in the local government area of the state. But, the people of the area need not to vote for her reelection bid, if she continues to leave those areas in deplorable condition.
Indeed, these roads, all in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State are very bad whenever it rains. But instead, the Chairman indulges in frivolities leaving the needful unattended. It is known that some roads are State roads but Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu does not leave Federal roads in the State unattended to.
Please, borrow a leaf from Fashola and help us patch the failed portions of the roads, instead of nursing ambition to recontest for the same position, the masses being neglected are they not the one you needs their votes.
This is not expecting too much from a supposed government at the grass roots, Surah Animashaun needs to put her house in good order before flagging off her second term campaign in the council area, in order to avoid of being stoned by the electorate in the Council.
Ms. Animashaun, this is a clarion calls to do the necessary things before it is too late, the people of the Council area are wiser on daily basis so you need to do more and do not listening to cynics and sycophants who surrounded you and parading themselves as SAs, Supervisory Councillors and many more. So beware Ms. Surah Animashaun of Epe Local Government.
Our fears are genuine as we wonder how the aforementioned roads will be when the rains intensify around late September.
A stitch in time saves nine.
